RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
COMMITTEE: Youth Family Ministries Director
GOALS & OBJECTIVES: To involve the young people and young families of the congregation in the work of the congregation in the work of Christ, provide for their spiritual growth, nurture and to promote genuine Christian fellowship.
REPORTS TO: Evangelism Committee
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Understand or be familiar with Lutheran theology.

Articulate a vision of youth (10-22 years of age) and young family ministry.

Organize and coordinate a balanced approach to youth and young family ministry that includes worship, Bible study, retreats, outreach, recreational events, and relationship building.

In conjunction with the Board of Evangelism, train and involve the youth of the congregation in bringing others to Faith in Christ.

Plan and carry out, together with other concerned Committees, a year round program for the young people of the congregation.

Provide for the continuing growth of the young people and young families of the congregation through Bible study, prayer and Christian service.

Promote attendance and involvement of the congregation's youth at all youth activities.

Actively engage in the selection and the training of leaders for the young people's program at all times.

Plan and observe together with pastor a yearly congregational Young People's Sunday.

Plan special events to welcome the newly communing and the newly confirmed and to invite them into the young people's groups.

Provide for continuing educational experiences, together with together the Board of Christian Education on topics of interest to the Youth.

Provide for public recognition of youth achievements and accomplishments.

Provide opportunities for involvement as servants in the life of the community such as civic, school, cultural, humanitarian, recreational, and social programs.

Provide opportunities for the young of the congregation to be involve in activities with the youth of other congregations, especially other Lutheran congregations.

Promote the use of music and liturgy with cultural norms.

Plan and participate in a weekly contemporary service

Prepare and administer a budget.
