RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
COMMITTEE: Worship and Music
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Assist the Congregation Council in seeing that the services of God's house are conducted regularly and in accordance with liturgy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
REPORTS TO: Council
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

Have primary responsibility for the planning, organization, execution and evaluation of St. Thomas total worship, and music ministries, so as the provide quality worship and a complete Christian music ministry of excellence, involvement, and inspiration for the entire Church year.

Plan worship and music for all regular, seasonal, festival and summer non-Sunday worship services in cooperation with the pastor, Choir Director and Organist.

Seek to expand worship and music opportunities for the congregation as mutually agreed upon with Music Director, Organist and Council.

Supervise all paid musicians.

Be responsible for the recruitment and training of ushers.

Provide and properly care for hymnals and other devotional materials.

Supervise and advance the welfare and service of the organist and choirs of the congregation.

Arrange for the care of paraments, vestments and musical instruments in consultation with the pastors, the organist and the choir director.

Furnish music supplies appropriate for use in the worship of the congregation of St. Thomas.

Seek to develop artistic and a visual ministry of worship through seasonal decorations, permanent arts and physical objects that will enhance our understanding of God's creativity and beauty.

Administer the business affairs of the worship and music ministry to St. Thomas including the developing of music budgets, overseeing expenditures, and projecting capital music purchases as well as the maintenance and care of all music supplies, equipment and instruments.

Work cooperatively with other Committees, i.e. Christian Education.

Submit an annual budget to the Finance Committee.
