RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

POSITION: Web Site Facilitator

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: To support St. Thomas’ ministry to the community and the world using modern techniques to improve and expand awareness of the church and its ministries.

REPORTS TO: Evangelism Committee

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

• The Web Site Facilitator, in consultation with the web site ministry team, will have the authority to approve or disapprove of information, links, etc. that will appear on the site. Unacceptable material shall be removed by the facilitator.
• The Web Site Facilitator, in consultation with the web site ministry team, will develop, communicate and enforce rules and procedures for submission of materials to be placed on the web.
• The Web Site Facilitator will be responsible for the over-all appearance of the web site, keeping it simple to navigate and easy to view and read.
• The Web Site Facilitator will have control of all passwords and will be free to make changes if needed to maintain security.
• The Web Site Facilitator will cause a file to be established in the church office titled "Web Site" wherein passwords, back-ups, records of payment to internet service provider, web host, rules and procedures, and other information related to the site shall be maintained.
• The Web Site Facilitator will be responsible for reviewing the content of the web site periodically to make sure there are no errors or broken links.
• The Web Site Facilitator will arrange for the payment of internet service provider and domain name renewal fees on a timely basis to assure that the site is available without disruption.
• The Web Site Facilitator will be responsible for selecting the service provider (the company responsible for storing web page files) and making such changes as are required to maintain a quality service.
• The Web Site Facilitator will develop and implement a quality control process to insure the site is effective and efficient for users.
• The Web Site Facilitator will be in communication with all web page volunteers and will be responsible for arranging any meetings if necessary.
