Establish objectives, set policies for, and supervise the total education program for each education agency in the congregation, including the personnel; i.e. Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, confirmation classes, Bible classes and all other educational groups.

Assist the Pastor in the entire program of proclaiming the Gospel to all people.

Encourage prayer in church and homes for sincere evangelistic concern toward all people inside and outside the Church.

Strive to generate in the entire Congregation a Christian concern regarding love of souls and the Christian’s responsibility as a witness-bearer.

Encourage members of the Congregation to witness to one another as well as the unsaved.

Foster a climate of evangelism by cooperating with the Pastor in arranging evangelism emphasis in worship services and special programs.

Promote and direct congregation-wide evangelism undertakings.

Be responsible for maintaining a well ordered and up to date file of prospective church members.

Be responsible for enlisting and training lay visitors to make evangelism calls and together with the Pastor, arrange an ongoing visitation program as an integrated part of the Congregation’s ministry.

Determine the congregation’s area of responsibility and effectively record, study, and utilize the results in churching the lost and strayed.

Cooperate with the Pastor in organizing periodic adult instruction classes and strive to provide a nucleus of congregational members to befriend membership prospects.

Be genuinely concerned for those moving into the community and for those (both members and prospects) moving into other areas. Use any and all means available for maintaining such contacts, such as sending them appropriate literature and devotionals.

Ensure, in conjunction with the Committee of Christian Education, that the Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and other committees of the Congregation are committed to mission outreach as well as to Christian nurturing.

Familiarize itself with the students in the confirmation class and foster among them loyalty to Christ.

Lead in the process of the reception, orientation, and integration of new members.

Be responsible for maximum possible use of the communication media to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Community.

Review, purchase and distribute literature with identifies the congregation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Such material includes Gospel tracts and New Testaments.

Present to the Finance Committee an annual budget for all projects and activities for the coming year.
