RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Position: Council Vice President

Reports To: President

Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • Serve as a member of the Executive Committee.
  • Collaborate with the pastor, council president and to develop the agenda for council meetings and to deal with special situations as they arise.
  • Chair the council meeting in the absence of the president.
  • Supervise an annual review of the St Thomas Handbook to insure that information is current and accurate.
  • Manage the preparation of the Annual Meeting Report, including the acquisition of committee reports, staff reports and the budget.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Committee chairperson to schedule a practice budget report for council prior to the annual meeting.
  • Supervise an annual review and update of the Equipment Inventory maintained by the Property Committee.
  • Collaborate with the Property Committee chairperson to review and update the 5-year major maintenance/repair plan for presentation to the Finance Committee and Church Council prior to preparation of the annual budget.
  • Serve as check signer.
  • Be custodian of the official seal of the Congregation.
  • Share with the Council President, as liaison, support and review of activities of all Committee's in furthering the mission of the congregation.
  • Attend once a year the Standing Committees meetings.
  • Chair the Personnel Ministry
  • Other responsibilities as Council member.
