Pastor Ellison is serving St. Thomas as an Interim Pastor. He has completed the training and fieldwork for Intentional Interim Ministry and is a member of the Interim Ministry Network. He earned the Bachelor of Divinity, now called the Master of Divinity, degree from Luther Theological Seminary, a school of the American Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minnesota (1969).

Pastor Ellison served as Pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockaway, New Jersey, Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Church of the Abiding Presence in the Soundview section of the Bronx, Grace Lutheran Church in Uniondale, New York, and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bank, New Jersey. He served in full time transitional ministry at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Dunellen, New Jersey and full time Interim Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Garfield, New Jersey.

Pastor Ellison and his wife Dorothy have two children, Patrick and Kirstin. The family lives in Oakhurst, New Jersey.
