What are Faith Stepping Stones?
Faith Stepping Stones are a series of programs designed to build "Faith in the Family" starting from the time a child is an infant and continuing through their graduation from High School.
How do Faith Stepping Stones build "Faith in the Family?"
The family learns how to make God part of their daily routine. In each Faith Stepping Stone, a different "Family Faith Practice" is introduced. During a special blessing service, parents and children commit to doing these Faith Practices every day in their home. Over time, the family grows in their faith.
What are the "Family Faith Practices?"
At each step, a different Family Faith Practice is added to the family's daily routine:
| Infants |
The parents bless the child. |
| Pre-School |
The family prays together. |
| Kindergarten |
The family shares their daily highs and lows. |
| First Communion |
The family practices forgiveness. |
| My Bible |
The family reads the Bible together. |
| Entry into Confirmation |
The family reflects on the Bible reading. |
| Confirmation |
The youth is called to a church ministry. |
| High School Graduation |
The family continues to keep one another in their prayers. |
Why are we doing this?
When your child was baptized, you promised to provide for their instruction in the Christian faith. Faith education should not be limited to an hour on a Sunday morning. We want you to invite God into your home. Since YOU are the most important person in your child's life, YOU are the best person to teach your child! The church is here to support you in that role. Our mission is to bless the child, gift the family, and call parents to the promise every night in every home.
