St. Thomas Reaches Out to Sister Congregation

An evening that included a multimedia presentation of the people, places, and music of Namibia along with ice cream and favorite toppings was recently enjoyed by many at St. Thomas Church. Bob Horn, a member of St. Thomas, shared the experiences of his recent trip to Namibia, in Africa, as part of the ELCA Companion Synod Program.

During his trip, he visited our sister congregation in Iihongo, where he presented Pastor Aluhe Nepembe of the ELCIN with a banner made by members of Holy Hobbies.

Approximately 50% of the people of Namibia are Lutheran, and 90% are Christian. Many people in Iihongo walk 2 hours to attend church on a Sunday morning.
